»right.«

»Absolutely.«

(via backeis, lottchen, mcwinkel and millions of others)
over the years i have come to the conclusion that very many (most?) people think they are being put in some kind of position, to fit in and be »the norm«. then again, all these each of these people are sure they are the one exception to that and are secretly very different from everybody.why secretly? do you think you will not be able to have a good life if you are yourself?i am being myself at all times, and yes, i am aware that polarize – and i do not mind. it’s fine because it brings some tensions to life. and i know enough others who are the same way, proving that it works out.(of course, sometimes i know i need to be serious and quiet, depending on the matter.)
anyway. whatever. stop pretending :)

I reblogged and commented the statement, because it reminds me of all those expectations “society” has to us. Being yourself can be painful, it takes more effort and I often realise that my environment pushes me into certain behavior patterns I then want to escape from again.
Mareen, I think you got the point: “of course, sometimes i know i need to be serious and quiet, depending on the matter.”
Note to self: Remind yourself more often to the joys of being yourself.
